How to Play Lyricraze

What You Need

Download it free on iOS or Android. One person runs the game from their phone.
Headphones Needed
Each player wears headphones or earbuds for their turn. Wired or wireless — whatever you've got. Pass them around!
2+ Players (Teams)
Works best with 4–10 players split into two teams. The more the merrier — and the louder.

Form Your Teams
Split into teams. The app picks who goes first.
Grab the Phone & Spin for a Category
When it's your turn, you grab the phone. A song category will be given to you - announce it to everyone — 90's Hits, 80's Hits, Rock Ballads, or 2010's Hits — and the app randomly assigns you a song. No peeking at what's coming!
Put On Headphones
Plug in your headphones. The app plays the song — you can hear the music, the beat, and the original artist singing along. Your teammates? They hear absolutely nothing. Just silence and your face.
Sing Until Someone Guesses
The lyrics appear on screen so you always know what to sing. Belt it out — loud, proud, and completely unaware of how you sound to everyone else. Keep singing until a teammate correctly guesses BOTH the song title AND the artist. Someone from the other team will let you know if it is correct (they'll get a peek at it).
Rotate & Repeat
Every player on both teams takes a turn grabbing the phone and singing. The faster your team guesses, the better your score.
Fastest Team Wins
Once everyone has had their turn, compare total guessing times. The team that guessed all their songs the fastest WINS. Brag accordingly.
Pro Tips
Commit to the song
The more dramatically you sing, the easier it is for your team to guess. Holding back is a losing strategy.
The lyrics are right there — use them
The app shows you the full lyrics on screen while you sing. You have zero excuse for not knowing the words. Your teammates will judge you anyway.
Film it
Seriously. Record your friends singing. You will watch it back and cry laughing. Every time.
Mix up the categories
Play a round of 90's Hits, then switch to Rock Ballads. Different categories = different levels of chaos.

How many players can play?
Lyricraze works great with 4–10 players. You can technically play with just 2, but the more people, the more fun (and the louder it gets).
What if I don't know the song?
It happens! Do your best — even a terrible attempt gives your team clues. And honestly, watching someone struggle is half the fun.
Can we play with kids?
Absolutely. The current categories are family-friendly. Just be prepared for your kids to absolutely destroy you.

What kind of headphones do I need?
Just one pair is enough — you pass them to whoever is singing. If you have multiple pairs, even better. As long as the singer can hear the music and nobody else can, you're good.
